Brazilian media company Globo is stepping up its efforts to grow its presence across African markets, bringing a diverse slate of scripted productions, unscripted formats and microdramas to MIP Africa 2026 in Cape Town.
Taking place from 28 to 30 October, the event will allow Globo to strengthen industry relationships, explore distribution partnerships, and identify new commercial opportunities across the continent. The company already distributes more than 20 titles across 14 channels and platforms in English- and French-speaking African markets, supported by its long-standing partnership with Côte Ouest, which spans more than 28 years.
The offering is led by The Nobility of Love, a telenovela making its international market debut in Africa and created by Duca Rachid, Júlio Fischer and Elisio Lopes Jr.; the production stars Lázaro Ramos, Duda Santos, Nicolas Prattes and Rodrigo Simas. Blending romance, adventure, and political intrigue, the story connects Brazil to a fictional African kingdom.
Audience engagement has been impressive in Brazil in the first month, with the series garnering over 86 million viewers and an astounding 287 million views on TV Globo's social media accounts.
Globo's wider catalogue includes the telenovelas Three Graces and Racing Heart (Fast-Track Hearts), alongside Globoplay Originals such as Emergency 53, The Playoffs, Blood Red – Under the Moonlight, Single Together and Dissident Angel. The company will also present its music reality series The Stars of the Show and the variety format Family Size.
Brazil Avenue (Avenida Brasil) will be an IP source for those interested in flexible IP. The show has already been adapted in Turkey and will also be adapted into Portuguese. Globo will also highlight its microdramas, in line with its format strategies.

"Our relationship with the African audience is solid and long-standing, as is our alliance with Côte Ouest," said Rodrigo Nascimento, Globo's Head of Business Development for EMEA.
Globo's programme at MIP Africa includes a content showcase on 29 October at 13:00. The following day, Isadora Filpi, Content Distribution and Partnerships, will join the panel From Local to Global: What Makes IP Travel?, exploring the factors that help content connect with audiences across international markets.
For African broadcasters, streaming platforms, and distributors, Globo's participation offers an opportunity to explore new acquisitions, adaptation rights, and partnerships with an established international content supplier.
