7 Media & Entertainment and Sutoritera Limited produced the movie. The movie includes a film called 'A Land Apart,' about a country with no oil but described as an agricultural superpower. Nile Entertainment is set to launch the movie nationally on 23 October 2026.
Led by Richard Mofe-Damijo, the film combines political intrigue, family conflict and questions around control of food resources. Its story unfolds against the backdrop of The Rot, a global ecological crisis that leaves nations struggling to feed their populations.
At the centre is Ahura Agric International Corporation (AAIC), whose proprietary formula, AX-103, has helped sustain food production across Africa. When founder Dekera Ahura is killed shortly before deciding which country will receive the formula, his secret heir, Dooshima Bida Ahura, inherits an agricultural empire with consequences extending well beyond the family.
As international interests move to secure AX-103 and members of Dekera's family challenge Dooshima's position, she is forced to investigate her father's death while attempting to protect the company and the resource on which millions depend.
The film features Princess Mufeedah, Sam Dede, Daniel Etim Effiong, Adam Garba, Ronya Man, Frank Donga, Ummi Baba Ahmed, Iveren Antiev, Preach Bassey and Onyeka Onwenu, who plays Madam Ngozi, the Market Queen of Zaki Biam.
Bem Pever directs, with an executive production team led by Samira Buhari. Emil Garuba and Michael Garuba wrote the screenplay, while Pever, Sally Williams Ngwobia and Emil Garuba serve as producers.

A Land Apart has already secured international industry exposure, winning Best Feature Film at the 2026 Zanzibar International Film Festival and earning selections at Cannes Marché du Film's Creative Africa Content Pavilion and the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival. It was also shortlisted for the Best of Africa Pitch at the NIFTV Summit in Paris.
The film will continue its international festival and market screenings through late 2026.
