Egyptian actor Ahmed Mekky is set to star in a TV serial titled "Al Falaky", which will air in Ramadan 2027 and begin shooting on 10 November.
Pre-production for the TV series is still underway, and the cast is being finalised. However, actor Ahmed Kamal said filming preparations were underway, but rehearsals had not yet begun.
Mekky will star alongside Jehan El Shamashergy, Ahmed Kamal and Amr Abed. The production is written by Ahmed Mourad, directed by Abu Bakr Shawky and produced by Synergy, the company led by Tamer Morsy.
The drama centres on Falaky, a man who convinces his clients he has supernatural abilities. Rather than relying on genuine mystical powers, he uses psychological manipulation, body-language analysis and facial expressions to create the illusion of extraordinary insight. His methods also involve gathering information about clients in advance through his assistants.
Because the show is built on manipulation, Al Falaky adds to Egypt's growing list of Ramadan 2027 television programs. The planned November shoot follows the series' efforts to compete in television's most competitive timeslot.
